About this site

My name is Brian Kimmel, I am a Software Engineering manager with an extensive technical background. I’ve built everything from backend financial systems for hedge funds, to scientific testing software for use on the ISS, to software that helps pharmaceutical companies plan for clinical trials, to beautiful digital photo booths that are a joy to use.

I started this site in 2024 to document some of the management and engineering lessons that I’ve learned through trial and error so I can reference them later. My main goal is to avoid repeating the same mistakes, but I hope other folks find value as well!
